Golf Tips For Beginners - 3 Tips to Get You Started on the Right Track

By Matthew Lord

Golf can be a frustrating game, especially when you are first starting out. I remember I started playing about 8 years ago and really did not know what I was doing! I did not have much direction so I wanted to provide golf tips for beginners that could improve your game quickly and easily. Practicing the right drills will improve your game more than you can imagine, and is much better than practicing without a purpose, so here are three tips that can help you improve your golf game even if you just started playing.

1. When you go to the driving range make sure that you check your grip, stance, and alignment. These three factors are crucial to playing good golf on a consistent basis. Your grip should have three knuckles showing on the left hand, and you should grip the club with your right hand where the pads of your hand meets your fingers. Your stance should be shoulder width apart with a little bit of knee flex, and you should make sure that you are lined up with your shoulders and hips square to the target.

2. If you want to get better at golf fast, then you need to improve your putting. The easiest way to do this is to putt using your shoulders, which means that you should take your hands and arms out of the stroke and simply rock your shoulders. This motion promotes more consistent contact, and you can really get a feel for how distance control and how certain putts should be stroked. This is one of the best golf tips for beginners because putting is so vital to success.

3. Last but not least you need to work on your chipping. This part of your game is often referred to as the "short game" and it is vital that you master this in order to shoot lower scores. When chipping do not pull out your sand wedge or lob wedge and try to hit the ball high. When you are close to the green try to chip with a 7 or 8 iron and keep the ball low to the ground and get it running as soon as possible. This will improve your distance control and encourage solid contact.

These golf tips for beginners should help you improve your game in no time, so go practice the fundamentals and you will improve quickly!
